Mijas and Marbella Spain (Costa del Sol)
A couple of weeks ago, we decided to check out “new territory”. We hadn’t yet gone further west than Malaga, so this was to be the day to explore. We hopped in our car and off we went. I had read about a little white village named “Mijas” (Mee Haas), so not long after passing Malaga we were there (about 85 minutes).
Mijas is a picturesque little pueblo blanco up in the hills above the coastline. We parked and explored. It was just adorable! It was a bit of a touristy, boutique ish town, but really cute. We loved the tiny bull ring, which had bulls in the stalls awaiting their big day on Sunday. They also have Donkey taxis. LOL
We then drove down the coast to Marbella (Mar bay ah) and walked along the beach and found a lovely park to play in. We also found a cool sand castle artist, a skate park, as well as a flamenco dance presentation. Marbella is a bigger city and the English language (UK) is everywhere you turn. It was a cool place to visit, but we love our little town to live.
We think you will like it as well.

So, when will you take Flamenco lessons?
Without a doubt, that is on our list of things to do. Unfortunately there aren’t any lessons available right now in our town. We aren’t up for the hour drive to Malaga two times a week either. With gas over $8 per gallon, try to limit driving to excursions. I was informed at the community center that they sometimes offer classes, but I need to wait each month for the community calendar. I am now awaiting Nov to see if there is cooking or dancing. 🙂
Hmm, there’s something odd about that “Torero”… :-p
me gusta!
