Greetings One and All. I must be the luckiest guy on the planet. “Why?” you ask? Because I get to do super cool stuff and then write about it. So what’s on tap today? A Sailing charter in Costa Tropical! And if you’re one of those impatient types who want to skip ahead, well then yes, we had a great time!
Move to Costa Tropical Spain? Where is that? Everyone knows about the coasts with the big cities Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol, Costa Dorada (Alicante, Malaga, Barcelona, Valencia), but not many know about Costa Tropical. That’s why it’s one of the best places to live in Spain! Shhh, don’t tell anyone! With coast, mountains, sea, mild winters and more.
Update: It’s all still true as of March 2019!
For 6 years we have been spoiled with the view from our terrace in Almunecar Spain. Of course along the way we have shared that view via video and photos with you. Today we have somewhat of a special treat to share. Something we’ve been saying we were going to do for years and now we’ve done it! Well, I asked Alan to set it all up and he did it! Today you get to see what we see! With nearly 20 hours of our view in just minutes of video experience a busy summer’s day, from sunrise to sunset!
It recently hit home for me that our kids have their own lives, which we parents don’t really know much about. Yes, we are raising kids in Spain, but does that make a difference? Would our teens and our choices have been similar if we weren’t in Spain? We had a list of goals when moving to Spain and one of those was to ensure the kids were able to adapt to change. Now I’m wondering if I need the lesson on adapting to change.
We are often asked about our Spain cost of living compared to the USA. You know, the cost of daily life, to just live and do what you want to do. This was a question that came to us in our post – What Do You Want To Know or Have Us Show?
Before moving to Spain, we thought that the cost of living in Europe was going to be expensive. Of course we had our doubts that we would be able to live on the budget we set for our family of 4. We made it happen and with the right choices you can too.
I know you are curious about the cost of things in Spain, as that is a popular question we are often asked. I thought we would show you a little here an there about our Spain food costs. If you have any other curiosities, feel free to ask us and we will be glad to share with you. Continue reading
It’s tough to believe that 20 years ago, Heidi and I got married on Baker Beach in San Francisco. 20 years! So obviously, this post is about our 20th wedding anniversary, and the amazing day that Heidi planned for us. Long story short…it was awesome!
Easter has passed, which marks the beginning of my annual Spring cleaning! Not to worry, I do clean more than just once a year (usually). Yes, it is time to get rid of those little dust bunnies collecting under the bed, behind the dresser, and in the corner. As well as the hand prints on the outside of the sliding glass door. We can say good-bye to the cobwebs, which have formed on the ceilings and in those unused corners of the home. And my favorite is, so long to the dust build up on the ceiling fans and base boards.
