So many people think that learning Spanish is next to impossible, but we don’t agree. We have found some tools that have made a world of difference for us while living in Spain. No, we aren’t perfect and please don’t give me a written spelling test! Our goal was two-pronged: 1. To immerse the kids, so they can become fluent. 2. Parents will do our best to improve our Spanish and communicate our needs. ( I will confess I had high hopes of becoming fluent) Continue reading
If you are planning a move to Spain, already living in Spain or just planning a visit, you should really learn the body parts in Spanish. You never know when you are going to need to make that trip to the médico or doctor.
Each Autumn our consulting and blogging takes a little siesta, so Alan and I take full advantage of this time to work on projects and improve our Spanish. This time we tried experiential learning Spanish mixed with some traditional classroom time. Yep, we are taking the slow road to fluency, but at least we are still on that road! To top it all off, we know we are better than we were last year!
Greetings One and All! As the title suggests, it’s my turn. “Your turn for what?” you may be asking. It’s my turn for Pueblo Español! Heidi went through this intensive Spanish course in June, and now I get to go in November. How am I feeling about it? You’ll have to read on to find out.
This time it is all on the line for me, with my Spanish Immersion experience. I am sharing far more than I have ever been comfortable sharing with all of you, so I will admit I was a little nervous hitting that publish button. This time my experience and performance is all captured on video, and guess what you can watch it below!
Be prepared to get a glimpse of my thoughts, heart, soul, feelings, frustrations and progress. I will share with you my personal experience attending a 1-week intensive Spanish course in Spain. This isn’t your typical classroom course, it is 8 days and 14-15 hours of conversation each day! This is like no other program I have experienced, so I am going to spill the beans and let you know what I think about full Spanish Immersion in Spain.
As of a week ago, we got the thumbs up to go to Pueblo Español! The plan was for me to go late July and for Alan to go in October. Well, plans are already changing since I first drafted this post, so see what is happening now!
Guess what time it is? It is time for us to give you an update on what we have been doing to improve Speaking Spanish!
Remember our initial post, back at the end of November, with the goal of making it to Pueblo Español? Oh and the video update of us speaking Spanish at the end of February? Well, here we are at the end of May and we figured you were due another update of our progress. Yes, there is another video. As much as we don’t like speaking Spanish on video, it kind of needs to be done. Thanks to all of you for asking questions and holding us accountable.
