Most often it’s the simple things that I enjoy most about our town. I needed to run to the bank, which is on the other side of town. It is a mile or two from our house, so we often just drive over and get the banking done. Not on this day, as the weather is a big motivator for me to get out and walk. Spring has arrived and it was another gorgeous day here in Almuñécar to be out and about.
As I was walking along, I couldn’t resist taking photos of our everyday sights. I often take photos and then don’t know what to do with them, but I just love to capture the moment. Then it hit me, you may want to walk to the bank with me. So come along with me to the bank.

Blanket of yellow and green along our hillside.

After taking care of things at the bank, I just roamed around old town and meandered my way back home. It was a nice couple of hours of “me” time and I loved every moment of it. Isn’t this a great place? What would your walk to the bank be like? Comment below!

Cool Ben. Welcome and thanks for finding us. We will be heading over to Asia the end of July. Perhaps we will make it to the Philippines too!
Your welcome. I’m from Philippines Heidi 🙂
Thanks for the comment Ben. Where are you from? Nice to see you here.
Yes it is a great place! 🙂 I know you really enjoyed it.
Lovely! If only my stroll (umm run to the bank) was as pleasant.
Thanks Christine. Back in the US it was a quick dash in the car and through the drive up ATM. Quite the change for us here. People have been requesting to see more around town, so I thought I would show how much I love even the most mundane task.
Thanks Sophie. You sure did go along my bank run. Of course I choose to take the scenic beach route. Next time you are in town, give us a ping and we could meet up for coffee.
Lovely idea for a post. I was shopping in Almuñécar Mercadona the other day after a trip to La Herradura. I think I must have passed very close to your bank run!
Neat perspective. Not sure if you’ve seen this before, but thought I’d share. There is an older TV series (from ’08 or so) called On the Road Again that featured Gwyneth Paltrow, chef Mario Batali and others driving around different regions of Spain and seeing the sights, eating locally, etc.
Starting about 30 minutes into Part 8, they spent a good amount of time in Almuñécar. See the full episode here:
Oh Buck, that is great. How fun to see our town on video with the stars. We’ve been to La Ultima Ola a few times. 😉 Thanks for sharing!
Aw Melanie, you never know. 🙂 Maybe you should start banking down here. 🙂
Not half as pretty or relaxing as yours! 😉
