When traveling to a big destination hot spot like Madrid, Spain, it’s best to have a plan to enjoy and maximize your time as there is so much to see. We have visited Madrid a few times and each visit has been just a couple of nights as we are passing through. You can easily get lost in a big city like Madrid, so try to plan things out via the public transportation. Here are a few things to do in Madrid with kids that we’ve enjoyed and would like to share with you.
Alan and I have been married for nearly 17 years and we love to one up each other on creative ways to give a gift. These ideas are perfect for the “little to no footprint gifts“. We know it may seem a bit boring to just hand someone an envelope with a gift card or money inside. That’s not quite an elaborate presentation to build up excitement. Not to worry, we have some creative ways to give money gifts or any gift for that matter.
I don’t know why, but it seems for the past few weeks many of you want to know more about renting a car in Spain. I find it odd, as the high tourist season is over, but we are happy to respond and do our best to answer your questions. Of course each person asks a slightly different question, but all relating to a rental car in Spain. Of course when things like this happen, what do we do? We compile all of our info into a post and share it on the blog, this way we have an easy link to point people to in the future.
If you only have 1 day in Vegas and want to get out of the main tourist area, then we have some great plans for you! We spent the majority of the day away from the strip or Fremont Street and wanted to see another side of Las Vegas. As an added bonus you will also see how we like to give gifts in a unique way. This was a full day planned to surprise Gma Bev for her 75th Birthday in Vegas!
When the gift giving season is upon us, sometimes it can be a challenge to find that perfect gift for your special someone who already has everything. This is when you really need to dig deep and try to figure out what type of give will be meaningful and not just something to clutter their home. That’s when you remember, they are travel lovers and are especially a fan of Spain! Let’s give them gifts of Spain.
This is a crazy post for me. My mind is going in so many directions. On the one hand, I’m happy, and on the other hand my Papa Bear instincts are kicking in. Why all the drama? I’ll tell you why:
I have a teenage daughter! Continue reading
When I think of the holidays, I always think of fun family party games! When I was growing up, in a household with 6 kids, every holiday was full of energy, games, and entertainment. Sometimes we would be out on the driveway playing basketball, or football on the front lawn, but indoors we would always enjoy family games. Charades, Pictionary, and Trivial Pursuit were always favorites of mine.
When we first moved to Spain, Lars was in the 5th Grade. We knew at his age it would be a little more challenging to learn Spanish and pick up the other subjects in class. The one place we were certain, he would excel immediately was in Math. We figured math would be the same no matter where you are in the world. You take some numbers and add, subtract, multiply and divide. How could it be any different? Well, we were in for a big surprise when it came to math, especially Long Division in Spain!
Sometimes I just need to pinch myself and see if it is all still real. It’s been exactly 5 years, since we designed our travel lifestyle, quit our jobs, sold our home, most of our belongings, and hopped on a plane to Spain! We have such a rich, tranquil and quality life, with the diversity of Europe at our fingertips. Even though we have all of this, we still dream of future destinations. I’m hoping that some good quality time under the Tuscan sun is in our future too. Just imagine the fun of renting luxury houses in Italy.
