You may be thinking “What the heck is a Holiday Park?”. Not to worry, we stayed at 3 of the Center Parcs Holiday Parks and tell all. We think they are a wonderful family camping holiday with luxury options.

While on our 3 1/2 week European road trip this summer, we stayed at the wonderful Sunparks De Haan, along the coast. It was located just 20 minutes away from Bruges Belgium. A place I have seen so many pictures of and wanted to see for many years.
Growing up with six kids in my family, camping was usually the vacation of choice. It was great, because all of us kids could run around and just be kids in nature. Now that we have kids we have taken the kids camping a few times, but found that we are more like a glamping family or a family that likes a real bed. I know that is cheating for those of you that camp, but we need a good nights sleep with all of our traveling.
One of the many things I like about traveling around is sampling the different desserts as we drive from country to country. When we do the obligatory “bio break”, I’ll check out the candy aisle and look for something that you wouldn’t see in your local 7-11.
One of my favorite international snacks is the stroopwafel. For those who don’t know, a stroopwafel is a waffle made from two thin layers of baked dough with a caramel-like syrup filling in the middle.
When planning our 2014 Summer European Road Trip, we knew we were going to need some down time. After scouring the web for the perfect accommodation, we found the perfect cottage in Champagne France. In France a cottage is often referred to as a gite, and this was named Gite La Chayotte. As you know we love to share with you where we’ve stayed and give a little love to our hosts as well.
After spending a fantastic week on a houseboat in Amsterdam, we decided to change not just the city in which we would stay, but the country. That is one of the great things about Europe. Everything is so much “closer” and we have even had a private cellar tour in Champagne France!
