Here are a few fun things to do in Madrid with kids that we’ve enjoyed and would like to share with you.
Fun Things to do in Madrid with kids
Fútbol
Are you a fan? Well Lars and Alan were just tickled pink blue to see the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, home of Real Madrid. They both enjoyed the tour and dreamed of being part of the team. The tour lasted about 1 hour and they were able to explore all over the stadium and of course snap several “tourist” photos.
Bulls
Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas is a gorgeous building and the tour is well worth it. The kids had a blast pretending they were Matadors and it was great learning about the history, tradition and process. That said, I am not sure we are up for viewing a live event, but it was educational and fun touring.

Museums
The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia
Internationally known as the Reina Sofia Museum, it is Spain’s national museum and its most popular. When visiting this museum, you can feast your eyes on the unique talents and creative works of Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali, as well as local Spanish artists.
What’s good about Madrid, when it comes to its museum attractions, is that all the top 3 museums are near each other in a place what locals dub as the Golden Triangle of Art, which is located along the famous Paseo del Prado.
Fun things to do for the adults
Curious about Wine?
The Ribera Del Duero
This is one of Spain’s quality wine regions. An hour drive away from Madrid, a wine tour package into this route included more or less 2 winery visits inclusive of lunch and tapas sampling.
The La Mancha This wine route is popular because of its association with Don Quixote. Many times with guided tours, you get a lot of freebies like wine tasting and get some interesting facts and history from the tour guides about these vineyards.
Rooftop Bars Madrid
Why not enjoy the city from high in the sky and experience a bit of fun. Here is our guide to the the terrazas or rooftop bars in Madrid.
Where to Stay in Madrid
These are just of the few things you can do to experience the art culture of Madrid. Finding accommodations in Madrid can be costly especially if you are staying in a hotel. We usually stay in cost-effective apartments. Apartments are more practical because you have more freedom, space, and they usually cost less. Live like a local and go to the corner market and bakery for your food. Many allow short stays of 1 – 3 nights or stay for a week.
