Anya takes us along on her adventure, to have a custom dress made in Hoi An Vietnam. She will walk you through the entire process of her tailor-made experience and even adds a bit of a vlog at the end. She received some money from her Great Grandmother for the holidays and this is how Anya wanted to spend it.
She did it! Just a reminder for those of you just joining us. We set out on an Adventure333 (3 Generations, 3 Months, 3 Countries+). 3 generations (my 72 year-old mom – Gma Bev), to cover 3 countries (Laos, Vietnam & Cambodia), in just 3 months (November, December, January). Our amazing Adventure333 has come to an end and Gma Bev made it all the way!
It seems that you like to slice and dice the data as much as I do. Actually, I think you like me slicing and dicing the data, and you like to consume the output any way I give it to you. So for grins and fun for me, you get to see our expenses for the month of December 2014, which includes Laos and Vietnam. If you just want to see the breakdown by Country, then just scroll down a little further.
I guess you could say everything wasn’t coming up roses with our accommodation in Vietnam. We spent 25 nights in Vietnam from the North to the South (Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City) and a few extra guests joined us on occasion.
We were lucky enough to spend 9 nights in Hoi An Vietnam. It was such a great place to slow down and just relax. What impressed me the most about this town and ancient village, were the beautiful nights. We happened to be visiting over Christmas, but I have a feeling this place is like Christmas every night.
I know, you are thinking it is January and why in the world is Heidi writing about Christmas. It is over Heidi! We have all moved on, made our resolutions and are looking forward to the next holiday. Well, sorry everyone, but you are going to get a little more Christmas out of the Wagoner Family! I think we have a special way of celebrating Christmas in Vietnam and I also feel the need to share it with you.
If you haven’t noticed by now, Gma Bev likes to do her own thing. Sometimes she meets amazing people and other times, she may have a little mishap. When she visited us in Spain, a couple of years ago, she was “mugged” in Gibraltar. We’ve also shared her Shenanigans In Laos last month. This month we will share what she was up to in Vietnam. Let’s just say it wasn’t quite as mellow as Laos or as innocent as her mugging in Gibraltar. Vietnam was full of energy, scooters and scams. We share it all with you here!
When researching travel options for our journey from Hue to Hoi An, I found there were several choices. I happened upon the option of a private car versus the bus or train. I reached out to a few agencies for pricing and within minutes, I had a reasonable price from Hue Private Cars (VM Travel).
The holidays are interesting for us at Wagoners Abroad. Not only do we have our own ways to celebrate, we get to see how the locals celebrate. This year, we find ourselves in Hoi An Vietnam. Our Christmas celebration started with a river cruise. Officially, it was a Christmas Eve Sunset Dinner Cruise with Cinnamon Cruises.
