Alan and I have been married for over 20 years and we love to one up each other on creative ways to present a gift. These ideas are perfect for the “little to no footprint gifts“. We know it may seem a bit boring to just hand someone an envelope with a gift card or money inside. That’s not quite an elaborate presentation to build up excitement. Maybe you want to know how to present a weekend getaway as a gift. Not to worry, we have some creative ways to give money gifts or any gift for that matter.
The unexpected gift which turned into a magical treasure for Anya, the best scratch off map of the world. Two years ago, on Anya’s 9th birthday, we were invited over to our neighbors for a special homemade dessert to celebrate her birthday. These are friends we’ve made since living in Spain and we have just connected with them on so many levels. They are a young couple and had a newborn baby, but we all just connected.
The other day Anya was requesting that we have a traditional Christmas at home. She continued by explaining she wanted it to be cold, with snow, a big decorated Christmas tree, and loads of our family. While I know I’ve had plenty of Christmas experiences with all of that, I realized she hadn’t. We have experienced Christmas vacations “away” from our home for most of her life and only a couple of times with snow.

Luckily we have some cake mix and frosting from the U.S., so he was a happy camper. The pièce de résistance was his gift. Alan is taking him with VIP passes to a professional Fútbol Game this weekend! Continue reading
