Driving On Our Summer Road Trip Through Europe

As we’ve described many times before, we are a family that prefers to drive when we are on vacation.  We like the flexibility that comes with the ability to get off the beaten path.

So of course, we did a fair amount of driving on our Summer 2013 Road Trip through Europe.  Actually we did a LOT of driving? Continue reading

Niederhorn – A Day Trip in Interlaken Switzerland

We have been camping on the Thun Lake while staying in Interlaken Switzerland, and it has been very relaxing.  To break up the long, strenuous bouts of relaxation, we decided to take a trip to Niederhorn.

The Niederhorn is the top of a mountain in the Alps, and has an elevation of 6440 feet [1963 meters], and the views of Interlaken Switzerland are nothing short of amazing!Enjoying the Swiss Alps

When Our 6 Week European Road Trip Took A Hairpin Turn in the French Alps

One Year Abroad – Alan’s Thoughts

Wow!  It’s been an entire year abroad for the Wagoners.  We have done so many things, visited a lot of different places, and met some fantastic people (both in person and online).  It’s hard to sum up all of the great things that have happened over this past year, so I’m going to focus on the things that are most important to me.

Reflecting On Living In Spain for 1 Year! & What is next?

I thought it would be great to reflect on the past year a bit and write something up for our 1 year anniversary.  Oh how time flies.  I can’t believe it, we have been living in Spain for a full year.  When we first decided to take a sabbatical / career break, we planned on living abroad for 12-18 months.  Of course the length of time was dependent upon us sticking to our budget, as we were living in Spain on a non-lucrative visa.  We officially weren’t allowed to work in Spain, so we took that to heart and have enjoyed the past year without any official paid work.  Happy 1 year Anniversary to Wagoners Abroad and Spain!

Traditional Balsamic Vinegar

One of the things I really enjoy about our Summer road trip travel adventure is that we’re learning about local products, and how they’re made.  While the Pagani Tour was awesome, we decided to do something a little more down to earth.  We took a tour of Acetaia di Giorgio and saw how they make Traditional Balsamic Vinegar firsthand.
