A Photo Walk Through Riomaggiore – Cinque Terre Italy

For many years I’ve dreamed of strolling through the narrow streets in the five quintessential villages of the Italian Riviera, Cinque Terre.  Each village nestled deeply into the crevices of the rocky hillsides which cascade into the Mediterranean Sea.  With homes painted in a multitude of earthy colors, adorning fresh flowers on the balconies and vines on the walls.  For me, this is one place that was on our must see list while on our 6 week European Road Trip.  Luckily the kids and Alan were up for the day trip from our campsite in Monotpoli, about a 90 min drive each way.

We Went Camping In Rome!

As a family of 4 we like to try out all types of accommodation options and this Summer Road Trip was to be no different.  We aren’t your typical hotel goers, as we prefer a little more space or unusual places.  That said, there are times when a hotel fits the bill for short stays. We have stayed in a cave house, a ferry, boat hotels, but most often, we like to rent apartments, so why not try camping in Rome?

Who Cut The Cheese? Parmigiano-Reggiano To Be Exact

Here we are an American family of 4, living in Spain and exploring Italy!   We love Spain, but I must admit we love Italy too.  Especially the food!  As you know, Alan isn’t a big foodie, so you may have guessed, he doesn’t “get into” cheese.  It just so happens that I love cheese, well most of them anyway.   Continue reading

I Need A Pit Stop

With any family Summer road trip you will without a doubt have a pit stop.  I thought it would be fun to compare our typical pit stop choices in USA, Spain, Portugal and Italy.  These are typical for our family, so please feel free to share what it is like for you. Continue reading

Strange Laws In Pisa

The U.S. is a great place.  Sometimes though, there are strange rules and regulations that quite frankly are insane.  For instance, did you know that in North Carolina, elephants may not be used to plow cotton fields.  In California, peacocks have the right of way to cross any street, including driveways.  There are tons of examples.

Time To See Aida in Verona, Italy

 Our Aida Experience

When I first learned of the Opera being held in a Real Roman Theater, I was tickled pink.  I quickly researched on-line and found that Aida was going to be playing during our time in Verona, Italy too!  Double bonus baby!  I was thinking about how much we were going to relish this experience and I couldn’t wait for the day to arrive.

I Am Just A BIG KID On A Pagani Tour

I’ll admit that in this case, I didn’t want to do the write-up for this particular post.  Not because it was boring, tedious, or a pain.  In fact, it was just the opposite.  Pagani was awesome!  So why am I not thrilled to write-up our adventure?  Because, I’d rather be doing the tour rather than writing about it.
