Adventures With Anya: Custom Dress – Hoi An Vietnam

Anya takes us along on her adventure, to have a custom dress made in Hoi An Vietnam. She will walk you through the entire process of her tailor-made experience and even adds a bit of a vlog at the end. She received some money from her Great Grandmother for the holidays and this is how Anya wanted to spend it.

Notes from Anya about her custom dress:

Mom said we were staying in a town that was known for making tailor-made clothes.  I didn’t know what that was, so she explained it.  We walked around the town and noticed so many places where people could have anything custom-made.  We saw suits, fancy dresses, casual dress, shoes, really anything you wanted they could make it.  I decided that is what I wanted to do with my Christmas money I received.  I wanted my own custom dress!

I have to say this was my a very special day Hoi An, Vietnam.  My mom and I went out for a walk to find a place with a good deal.  We stopped at multiple shops and finally found my favorite one.  It was shop 76 and they had the best fabric choices and the perfect fabric was right in front of my eyes.

The lady that owned the shop was really nice and spoke just enough English for us to communicate.  She measured me and told me to come back later in the afternoon to be fitted in my dress.  You are going to have to watch the video to see everything.  It was so exciting and a fun experience.

  1. Wow, what a beautiful dress! Anya, I am jealous of you! I would love to have my own custom made dress! I wonder if there is a tailor nearby that I could go to. I better do some research and find out!

  2. Loved the video! Anya is such a natural in front of the camera, she might have a bright future as a TV presenter…or fashion designer? I’ve never dared get tailor-made clothes done in SEA, but now that I see the process is so fast and simple I might give it a go!

Come on and tell us what you think!
