Who is sitting at work right now, feeling stuck, not knowing if you will be the next to be let go? Or perhaps you have so much stress you can’t think straight. It is time to take the bull by the horns and be in control of your life and your dreams.
We quit our jobs over 3 1/2 years ago and haven’t missed it for one minute. We have designed our freedom lifestyle and today we feature Nicole, who has gone above and beyond with her freedom lifestyle design.
I want you all to take a minute to read through her story and take advantage of what she offers from her experiences. It is time for you to be in control and live life, rather than exist in it. Her tools are perfect for someone wanting to start their own business, work from home or anywhere in the world/ That is freedom and this is the real deal!
Nicole is living proof we can all be in control of our own lives. We met Nicole online, as a fellow traveler, and admire how she has created a location independent life. Continue on to read her story and learn how you can live the life of your dreams too!
As you know, our move to Spain started with a career break, taking a sabbatical, planning a family gap year, or whatever you want to call it. After 3 years of travel, it has now officially turned into a travel lifestyle. Yes, we now have the lifestyle of the open-ended traveler with a home base in Spain.
How did you go from Career Break to Lifestyle?
How do you keep it going? (C’mon what is the real question here?)
As I sit here writing in Cambodia, a million thoughts are swirling through my mind. Notice I didn’t say “flowing”. Nope they aren’t even running through my head. They are actually swishing back and forth, churning and swirling around like a washing machine. Of course it isn’t just with me, it’s the same for Alan as well. So what is going on in our minds? We are trying to figure out what is next for Wagoners Abroad?
We lived along the beautiful southern coast of Spain for nearly two years. It was in a small town named Almuñécar and we used this as our home base to explore more of Europe as well. We kept track of every expenditure along the way and have shared our cost of living in Spain with you. This page is a compilation of our expenses in Spain and how much it really cost for our family of 4 to live in Spain.
By choice, I have been out of paid work since May of 2012 and Alan has been since July 2012. Yes, that is when we quit our fantastic corporate jobs and sold almost all of our belongings. That is when we decided we were going to temporarily “retire”, take a sabbatical, a mini retirement and have the life of leisure. Oh yes, and we were going to up and move to Spain too, to enjoy life. It was our dream to once again live overseas and we knew we had to take destiny into our own hands to make it happen. That is when many people thought we were crazy to give up our home, our security our storybook suburban life.
August 26, 2012 – We sold it all, each packed up a suitcase and back pack and moved to Spain!
We just wanted to share with you our Top 10 posts for the year. There was a tie for number 10, so you will see 11 listed. We have had a great year and we love keeping track of it all on Wagoners Abroad. We have an important milestone coming up on Monday, so stay tuned for a bigger trip down memory lane. We can’t thank you enough for following along, commenting, interacting, contacting us and supporting us. You make all of the hard work that goes into blogging worth it. Thanks!
We are now in our 11th month and it’s time to provide you an overview/summary of our cost of living in Spain and our actual spend from the last Quarter. This post happens to cover months eight, nine and ten or Quarter 2 of 2013.
Costa Tropical? Where is that? Everyone knows about Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia and Costa del Sol, but not many know about Costa Tropical.
We are often asked “Why did you choose to live in Almuñécar (Costa Tropical) Spain?”. The list of reasons are endless, but we thought we would share with you why we fell in love with Costa Tropical, a small stretch of Spain along the Mediterranean. Obviously when choosing a location to call home there are other factors, such as education etc. We just wanted to share with you what captured our hearts. Continue reading →
Many of you keep asking “What do you guys do all day?” We don’t currently have paid jobs, so what could we possibly do to keep busy and prevent us from being bored? I know it is difficult to believe we are Not Working, but in a sense we really are. To be honest, we wonder where the time goes and still think that there is not enough time in the day. We also wish that money grew on trees, but nothing wrong with being dreamers right? Continue reading →
