You’ve just had a 4-hour flight with the kids and they were great! Once you are off of the plane, your luggage is the first to come out. You load it all up on the cart and one of the kids is sitting on top of the luggage squealing with excitement about the upcoming weeks with all of their favorite Sesame Street characters. You are excited about the thought of having some time to relax, while the kids are being entertained.
After a few years of living in Spain, both Heidi and I should be further along with our Spanish. She’s actually much better than me, and I won’t even discuss how well the kids do. It’s both frustrating and a bit humbling to have them correct me when I’m saying things wrong. So, I have taken a trip to Ronda, for a week of Spanish immersion. I know we already live in Spain, but this is different and we’re partnering with Entrelenguas to help me improve my Spanish.
This is the question many of you have asked and I bet many of you wanted to, but didn’t want to invade our privacy. So we are just going to share with you all of our 8 week European Road Trip Costs. Don’t worry, if you have a question for us, just ask! We are sharing our experiences, stories, budgets with all of you. This one gets a bit tricky, so pay close attention.
We traveled over 6000km in Spain & France and stayed in all types of accommodation. We covered it all from Luxury to Misery, ya know the “Get me out of here!” kind. Now it’s time to share it all with you, every place we stayed during our 8 week European road trip. Yes, we will include what we thought and the costs too. Keep on reading!
We have wrapped-up our Epic 8-week Summer Road Trip, and a couple of the quirky things that came to mind were:
- The amount of driving we did;
- Our road trip playlist;
We’re on our way home, and this means that our Epic 8-week Summer Road Trip is coming to a close. We’ve chosen to end the trip on a good, no great note, and we’ll be doing a Where It’s Made type of post. Our journey takes us to Naturalmente Mediterraneo and Jennifer explains the process of making artisan soaps and other skincare products.
It’s another lovely tasting for us, this time French wines. This is not a typical large-scale winery, but a tiny new winery. It’s at Domaine des Amiel, and it is literally outside our front door and under our apartment. So Heidi and are ready to start enjoying Montblanc wine!
We’ve completed our house sit in Morzine France and had an amazing time. We thought it would be a week of rest and relaxation, but it was far more than that. We had big plans of spending a week or two to make it back home to Almuñécar, with stops in Montpellier, Girona and more. But that isn’t how our the final week of our European road trip turned out.
We were scheduled to visit Morzine France this summer, as we had a house sit there for 1 week. We didn’t know much about the town, other than it being a ski resort in the French Alps. Since this was all part of our bigger 8 week road trip, we planned to have a very mellow week and just catch up on our writing, while staying at a house sit. Well, that isn’t exactly how it played out.
