I have to admit I have been a little gun-shy over the past several months with writing for the blog. Yes, we have been doing some here and there, but nowhere near how we used to keep you up to date. Recently I have been reflecting on a few things and I’ve been amazed at the self discovery and thoughts.
As of a week ago, we got the thumbs up to go to Pueblo Español! The plan was for me to go late July and for Alan to go in October. Well, plans are already changing since I first drafted this post, so see what is happening now!
Guess what time it is? It is time for us to give you an update on what we have been doing to improve Speaking Spanish!
Remember our initial post, back at the end of November, with the goal of making it to Pueblo Español? Oh and the video update of us speaking Spanish at the end of February? Well, here we are at the end of May and we figured you were due another update of our progress. Yes, there is another video. As much as we don’t like speaking Spanish on video, it kind of needs to be done. Thanks to all of you for asking questions and holding us accountable.
We know you work hard to provide a great life for the family. When it comes to the few weeks vacation you have each year, you do your best to balance entertainment for the kids and some relaxing time for the parents. It’s great fun to have a vacation with the family, guys or girls, but you also need to fuel the family foundation. Why not visit Jamaica for a couples vacation? We have been to Jamaica several times and we have also scheduled other parents only vacations in the Caribbean.
When we mentioned to a good friend we were going to be visiting Aberdeen, she was so excited. Of course she mentioned all of the standard sights to see, but there was also one special place which was a must see. It sounded adorable and apparently is one of the best tiny house villages around.
Oh this city is magical, you could spend an entire week here or just sample a few days. This was home to me for many years and even after all of my travel it is still my favorite city in the world. One reason I love it so much is the diversity which can be found all in a walk and all in one day. I will share with you some of my favorite places so you can get to know the real San Francisco.
The new year has begun and with that, we have set some personal goals and we have a fairly clear path to Pueblo Español. As we confessed earlier, Alan and I need to step it up a notch when it comes to speaking Spanish. We shared all of our rational and excuses as to why we aren’t better Spanish speakers, but it needs to stop! We have an opportunity to work with Pueblo Español this year and we don’t want to mess that up! Just a reminder, we need to be at least intermediate level with our Spanish, in order to attend Pueblo Español.
We are all aware that Barcelona is a beautiful city with marvelous architecture with sublime weather, that is why if you want to enjoy the view you need to stay above ground. You can go for a walk, but why not see Barcelona by bike? Explore Las Ramblas, the Ciutadella Park and what better than to cycle down the Barceloneta? I bet this would help create some unforgettable experiences.
We had a wonderful family Christmas in Edinburgh with Grandma Linda. It was an amazing week and we want to share what we feel are the top 15 things to do in Edinburgh with teens! Alright, you caught me, Anya is only 12, but she is just as teen as they come. Many of these activities are specific to the Christmas season, but there are also plenty which are available year-round.
